Overview

Stanza is an eBook reader application that can be used on the iPhone and iPod Touch or your PC. Transfer eBooks between your computer and iPhone/iTouch using Stanza Desktop. Stanza is free and developed by Lexcycle.

Update: In 2011 the Lexcycle Stanza website went offline.

Downloads of Stanza could be found at www.lexycle.com in the past, but that website is now offline. You can try iTunes instead.

Security Requirements

If you're planning on buying a secure Palm Reader eBook on Stanza this is what you'll need:

• Stanza Desktop installed on your computer, and the Stanza app installed on your iPhone or iPod Touch

Be prepared for:

• Before you can read the eBook, you'll be asked to enter your "Purchaser's Name and Unlock Code". The purchaser's name is the name you entered when buying the eBook, and the unlock code is the credit card number you used.

How to download Palm eReader eBooks to your computer then transfer to your iPhone or iPod Touch

First, install the necessary software. You need both Stanza Desktop and Stanza for iPhone/iPod Touch.

Once you have both of those programs installed, you can transfer eBooks from your computer to your iPhone/iPod Touch.

How To Transfer eBooks to your iPhone/iPod Touch using Stanza Desktop

The dedicated Stanza iPhone application can transfer books to your iPhone/iPod Touch from your computer using Stanza Desktop.

1. Launch Stanza Desktop.
2. Go to File > Open, and open a book or document in one of Stanza's supported formats. Note: The text of eReader books will not be displayed, but you can still use this interface to share books with Stanza iPhone.
3. Go to the "Tools" menu, and ensure that the "Enable Sharing" menu item is checked.
4. Ensure that your iPhone is connected to the same wireless network that your PC is on.
5. Launch Stanza on your iPhone.
6. From the top-level library menu, select "Shared Books". You should see your computer name. Select it.
7. Stanza Desktop will then notify you that your iPhone is attempting to connect to your shared library, and request your permission to allow the connection.
8. Once you have granted permission, Stanza iPhone will display a list of books that are open in Stanza Desktop.
9. Tap on the book to download it Stanza on your iPhone. It will appear in Titles and Recent Downloads.
