 Gemstar and Rocket eBooks
Overview
Some of the first available dedicated eBook readers were the Rocket and
Gemstar eBook devices. Rocket (later purchased by Gemstar) made a dedicated handheld eBook
reading device with a larger screen size. They were around the size of a
paperback book with backlit screens. They had rechargeable batteries and
expandable memory.
eBook Reader Software or Apps
- The Gemstar and Rocket eBook devices came
with software called "eBook Librarian" that allows the user to transfer eBooks
between the computer and eBook device.
